The Challenge

For Retrolovely Magazine’s “Devil or Angel” themed editorial, the goal was to create a visually striking series that balanced contrasting moods of light and dark while maintaining a cohesive editorial aesthetic. Working within a makeshift studio environment, the challenge was to produce imagery that felt polished, atmospheric, and emotionally engaging despite limited space and resources.

The Approach

I photographed models Veda Rose and Brittany Sky both individually and together, focusing on composition, lighting, and posing that reinforced the duality of the concept. Careful attention was given to creating distinct visual tones that represented both the “angelic” and “devilish” sides of the editorial while keeping the overall series stylistically unified.

In post-production, I expanded the visual direction through creative retouching, color grading, and atmospheric effects to introduce additional energy, drama, and mysticism into the final images. Lighting and backdrop setups were carefully optimized within the studio space to create depth and cinematic contrast throughout the shoot.

The Outcome

The final editorial transformed a limited studio setup into a stylized conceptual series that aligned with Retrolovely Magazine’s themed publication. The project demonstrated creative problem-solving through lighting, photography, and post-production while delivering imagery strong enough for magazine submission and publication.
