The Challenge

The Pinup Society needed a themed editorial photoshoot that authentically captured the visual style and personality of late 1960s and early 1970s pinup culture for magazine publication. The goal was to create imagery that felt era-accurate while maintaining a polished and modern editorial quality.

The Approach

Working closely with the styling direction established through wardrobe, hair, and makeup, I focused on creating photography and post-production treatments that reinforced the nostalgic tone of the shoot. Lighting, color grading, and image retouching were carefully developed to emulate the warmth, texture, and visual character associated with vintage photography from the era.

Consistency across the final image set was an important part of the process, ensuring the editorial maintained a cohesive visual identity throughout the series.

The Outcome

The final editorial successfully captured the retro aesthetic the publication was seeking, resulting in multiple cover placements and featured spreads throughout the magazine issue. The project combined photography, visual styling, and post-production to create a cohesive editorial experience that aligned with both the publication’s audience and the creative vision of the shoot.
